Popped corn and popped question?
Tuesday rolls around and our unwavering excitement for dinner seems to be the only topic of conversation. Typical first words in bed are “IT’S TUESDAY”, breakfast convo is “I wonder what we’ll get tonight!” and sometime throughout the rest of the day there is usually a “is it time yet?”
Each post I have talked about the excitement but my hope is that you are really starting to understand our love for the weekly mystery and the fact that we get to spend this quality time together!
It was March 26th, just another Tuesday. We set up my phone on the tripod as we always do. Jesse had been working all day to make some tweaks to the program as we’re still working to make it live so we are able to share it with all of you! Both in our typical lounge. I had no make up on and my hair was several days past needing to be washed #workfromhome aimirite?😂 We typically take turns week by week for who gets to click to reveal the items. Jesse moved over kneeling on the floor and I eagerly moved towards the computer. “You ready?” I state. “I’m ready” is the reply.

But this week was different…
I turn towards Jesse in shock. My eyes wide and a gasp. Covering my mouth in disbelief. Tears filling my eyes.

ME?
He had already been on one knee. Perfectly planned and nothing out of the norm that would make me have suspected it was coming.
It was beyond perfect. The two of us in our own element.
I think you can guess, this had to be my favorite mystery box.
We relished in the moment and contemplated going for a celebratory dinner but both decided that we would rather spend the evening doing what we love most together. Cooking.
A re-roll for a real roll.
Filet
Corn
Black olives
I’ll spare the grocery trip details for this one in fear of losing y’all to the longer read.
Not only did Jesse pop the question but, he popped some corn!
In true Jesse style, very untraditional. He did a “charcuterie inspired” filet wrapped with an olive tapenade incased in provolone and salami, surrounded by some popped corn. Absolutely delicious!
I went mediterranean inspired! A pan seared filet served with an olive hummus and a corn tabbouleh, served with some fresh homemade pita bread!
